Knicks 100, Bulls 89:
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 20 points and Carmelo Anthony added 17 as host New York ended Chicago’s seven-game winning streak.

J.R. Smith hit five 3-pointers en route to 17 points and Raymond Felton added 14 points and seven assists for the Knicks, who were eliminated from postseason contention on Saturday. Tyson Chandler grabbed 12 rebounds and Amar’e Stoudemire contributed 12 points for New York.

Joakim Noah collected 13 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists while Jimmy Butler scored 17 points as Chicago slipped back into a tie with the Toronto Raptors for third place in the Eastern Conference. Mike Dunleavy and Taj Gibson added 13 points apiece for Chicago.

Smith knocked down a 3-pointer and Anthony scored during a 9-0 surge that ended the second quarter and sent the Knicks into the break with a 45-39 lead. Smith hit three 3-pointers and Felton added another during a 12-2 run that pushed New York’s advantage to 60-46 with 8:36 left in the third quarter.

The Bulls trailed 89-72 with 7:28 to play before a 15-4 surge dropped the deficit to six points with under four minutes remaining. Hardaway hit four free throws and knocked down a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left to put it away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Noah finished one assist shy of his fifth triple-double of the season, which would tie the NBA high. … The Bulls host Orlando on Monday before finishing up the regular season on the road at Charlotte. … The Knicks get a chance to put their mark on the East playoff picture further with games remaining against Brooklyn and Toronto on Tuesday and Wednesday.
