Timberwolves 107, Hawks 83: Corey Brewer and Kevin Martin scored 18 points apiece as host Minnesota roared past struggling Atlanta.

Gorgui Dieng contributed 15 points and 15 rebounds and Kevin Love added 14 points and 12 boards as the Timberwolves halted a three-game skid. Chase Budinger added 12 points and Ricky Rubio recorded 10 assists and six steals.

Mike Scott had 15 points and seven rebounds and Paul Millsap added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks, who lost their fourth consecutive game. DeMarre Carroll added 11 points for Atlanta, which saw its lead dip to two games over the New York Knicks for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Timberwolves led by 14 three minutes into the fourth quarter and Robbie Hummel made two 3-pointers in a 66-second span to help them begin to pull away. J.J. Barea and Budinger each made a 3-pointer during an 11-0 surge that saw Minnesota build a 99-71 edge and the Timberwolves cruised to the finish.

Minnesota held a 48-41 advantage at the break but Atlanta was within three points early in the third quarter. A 15-6 spurt helped the Timberwolves open up a 12-point lead and Minnesota pushed it up to 17 before taking a 75-61 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rubio took an elbow in the mouth from Scott in the first half and had 15 stitches in his upper lip before returning to the game. … Hawks G Kyle Korver (back) missed his fourth straight contest. … The Timberwolves had 17 steals and scored 32 points off 26 Atlanta turnovers.
