Trail Blazers 116, Wizards 103: Damian Lillard had 23 points and 10 assists to outduel John Wall and lift host Portland over Washington.

Wesley Matthews matched his season high of 28 points for the Trail Blazers, who shot 50.6 percent to remain 1 1/2 games back of the Houston Rockets in the race for fourth place in the Western Conference. Dorell Wright scored 15 points while Nicolas Batum added 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Wall's 24 points and 14 assists weren't enough for the Wizards, who dropped a full game back of the fifth-place Brooklyn Nets in the East. Bradley Beal and Drew Gooden poured in 18 points apiece while Trevor Ariza had 15 and Trevor Booker 10.

Portland led by just two at the break but pulled away in the third quarter, making four of its first five shots - including 3-pointers from Lillard, Wright and Matthews - to open up a double-digit advantage. Washington made it a one-possession game on a Wall 3-pointer, but Matthews answered with one of his own, Wright added another near the midway point of the third and the Wizards wouldn't get closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Wall had 13 first-quarter points to lead the Wizards to a 28-23 advantage. Washington fended off a number of Portland challenges until the final minute of the half, when a Lillard dunk and a Lopez layup helped move the Trail Blazers ahead 53-51.
