Nuggets 111, Heat 107: Kenneth Faried led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds and Darrell Arthur poured in a season-high 18 off the bench as Denver toppled host Miami.

Evan Fournier added 14 points in a reserve role and Ty Lawson piled up 13 points and nine assists as the Nuggets won for the fourth time in six games. J.J. Hickson contributed 11 points and nine rebounds to help Denver’s strong bench effort.

Ray Allen scored 22 points and LeBron James had 21 but missed two 3-point attempts and a free throw in the final 57 seconds as the Heat dropped back-to-back home games and fell for the fifth time in six games. Dwyane Wade scored 19 points and Mario Chalmers added 16 for Miami.

The Nuggets held a 16-point lead after the first possession of the fourth before the Heat battled back, drawing within 94-90 on Chalmers’ layup with 5:56 to play. Chandler converted a four-point play to cap a 10-2 run but Miami fought right back with nine straight points to cut the deficit to three before going over two minutes without a field goal as Denver put it away at the line.

Miami was up 14 points early in the second before the Nuggets’ reserves took over, with Aaron Brooks and Fournier hitting two 3-pointers apiece and Arthur scoring five points during a 22-4 burst to take the lead. Denver’s bench ended up with 32 points in the opening half to help the Nuggets to a 58-53 lead at the break, and a 10-1 run opening the third pushed the lead to 14 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Faried has recorded a double-double in three of the last five games. … The Nuggets finished with 57 points off the bench while the Heat got 40 from their reserves. … Allen went 5-of-7 from 3-point range but the rest of the team struggled to 2-of-17.
