Spurs 103, Trail Blazers 90:
Patty Mills led six players in double figures with 15 points off the bench as San Antonio turned away visiting Portland to earn its eighth straight win.

Danny Green hit four 3-pointers en route to 14 points and Tiago Splitter (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Tim Duncan (10 and 11) each recorded a double-double as the Spurs increased their lead in the Western Conference to a full game over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kawhi Leonard chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds while Manu Ginobili scored 13 for San Antonio.

Damian Lillard scored 23 points to lead the Trail Blazers, who dropped their fourth straight. Nicolas Batum collected 13 points and 14 rebounds while LaMarcus Aldridge scored 14 points before leaving with a back injury for Portland.

The Spurs began the second quarter with an 8-0 burst to push the lead to 38-24 and had the advantage up to 17 points before settling for a 56-40 lead at the break. The Trail Blazers scored the first eight points of the third quarter to get the deficit to single digits and were within 61-55 before Duncan’s layup began a 7-0 spurt.

Mills and Marco Belinelli hit back-to-back 3-pointers to open the fourth quarter, extending the advantage to 79-64, and Belinelli added another from beyond the arc to make it an 18-point cushion with 10:34 left. Portland got it back down to 12 points with 3:09 on the clock but Belinelli converted a three-point play and the Spurs cruised to the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Blazers close out their five-game road trip through the Southwest Division against New Orleans on Friday. … The Spurs held a 55-48 advantage on the glass and held Aldridge to four boards. … Portland G Mo Williams (right hip strain) missed his second straight game.
