Wizards 114, Bucks 107: Trevor Ariza scored 20 of his 28 points in the first half and visiting Washington had to hold off a strong Milwaukee charge to win for the eighth time in nine games.

Bradley Beal scored 23 points and Martell Webster added 15 for the Wizards, who led by as many as 28 points in the second quarter before experiencing a cold-shooting second half. John Wall added 13 assists as Washington recorded its their fifth consecutive road victory.

Brandon Knight scored 25 points for the Bucks, who drop to 7-26 at home. Khris Middleton added 15 points, Ramon Sessions scored 14 and Ersan Ilyasova chipped in 13.

The Wizards missed 18 of their first 26 second-half shots and the Bucks trimmed their large deficit to 95-91 on Ramon Session’s steal and dunk with 6:43 to play. Milwaukee trailed by three before Beal’s layup and 3-pointer gave Washington a 109-101 advantage with 1:23 to play, and Wall followed with a 3-pointer as the Wizards prevailed.

Washington shot 67.4 percent from the field in the first half and exploded for 39 second-quarter points while taking a 75-53 lead. The Wizards were 10-of-17 from 3-point range in the half but Washington went cold to start the third quarter, missing its first nine field-goal attempts and committing five turnovers as Milwaukee rolled off the first 12 points to cut its deficit to 10.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wizards finished 15-of-28 from 3-point range, with Ariza and Beal each knocking down five. … Bucks G O.J. Mayo served a one-game suspension for punching New Orleans C Greg Stiemsma in the throat during Friday’s loss to the Pelicans. … Wall committed seven turnovers and had just nine points on 4-of-14 shooting.
