Knicks 107, Cavaliers 97: Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points and Amar’e Stoudemire added 17 points and 12 rebounds as New York topped host Cleveland to earn its third straight win.

J.R. Smith scored 17 points and Tyson Chandler recorded 15 points and 11 boards for the Knicks, who dropped seven in a row before the current positive string. Pablo Prigioni hit three 3-pointers en route to 11 points off the bench for New York.

Kyrie Irving collected 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who have dropped four straight. Spencer Hawes had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Jarrett Jack scored 12 points for Cleveland.

The Cavaliers took an 80-77 lead on Dion Waiters’ layup with 10:40 left before Prigioni and Smith nailed 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions and Anthony capped the 14-1 burst with his own from beyond the arc to put the Knicks back on top. Cleveland brought it back within 97-90 with 2:58 to play but Chandler’s dunk began a 6-0 spurt as New York put it away.

The Knicks took a 58-50 lead into the half but Irving’s 3-pointer sparked a 9-2 surge that got the Cavaliers back in the game. Cleveland took a 76-74 lead with 32 seconds left in the third but Anthony drained a 3-pointer to send New York into the fourth up by one.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Cavaliers retired former center Zydrunas Ilgauskas’ number at halftime. Former teammate LeBron James attended the ceremony. … The Knicks built up a 49-37 advantage on the glass but were outscored in the paint 42-28. … Cleveland C Anderson Varejao (back) returned from an 11-game absence and recorded four points and three rebounds in nine minutes off the bench.
