Bobcats 101, Cavaliers 92: Al Jefferson collected 28 points and seven rebounds as host Charlotte held off Cleveland.

Kemba Walker added 20 points and 14 assists and Chris Douglas-Roberts recorded 14 points and nine boards as the Bobcats picked up their sixth straight home win. Josh McRoberts scored 11 points and hoisted nine of Charlotte’s season-high 29 3-point attempts, hitting three.

Luol Deng and Dion Waiters scored 19 points apiece to lead the Cavaliers, who dropped their third straight. Spencer Hawes and Kyrie Irving each added 13 points for Cleveland.

The Cavaliers took an 81-80 lead on Waiters’ free throws with 7:54 left but Walker scored four straight points to put the Bobcats back on top. McRoberts hit a 3-pointer to make it 91-85 with 3:39 to play and Walker hit six free throws in the final 24 seconds to put it away.

Both teams shot over 53 percent in the first half but the Bobcats took a 55-50 lead into the break behind 18 points from Jefferson. Cleveland tied it twice in the third before Cody Zeller’s free throws sent Charlotte into the fourth with a 76-74 edge.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bobcats G Gerald Henderson (calf) missed his third straight game. … Waiters is averaging 21.5 points in two games since sitting out seven in a row with a knee injury. … The Cavaliers shot 31.8 percent in the second half, including 1-of-10 from beyond the arc.
