Knicks 118, Timberwolves 106: Carmelo Anthony poured in a game-high 33 points as visiting New York defeated Minnesota to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Amar’e Stoudemire and Raymond Felton each contributed 18 points as the Knicks shot 52.2 percent from the field and made 11-of-27 from 3-point range. Tyson Chandler chipped in with 15 points and 14 rebounds while J.R. Smith scored 14 and Tim Hardaway Jr. 11 for New York.

Kevin Love led the way with 19 points and Nikola Pekovic registered 17 for the Timberwolves, who lost for only the second time in eight games. Corey Brewer scored 16, Kevin Martin had 12 and Ricky Rubio added 11 points and eight assists for Minnesota, which was starting a four-game homestand.

Anthony scored 13 in the first quarter as the Knicks raced to a 14-point lead and added seven more in the second to help New York to a 66-55 edge at intermission. The Timberwolves scored eight straight points – five by Pekovic – after trailing by 11 in the third quarter and inched to within 88-86 going into fourth.

Anthony, Stoudemire and Felton opened the final quarter with baskets and, after a Shabazz Muhammad jumper, the Knicks scored the next nine – four by Anthony – to build a 103-88 lead. Martin started a 7-0 run with a 3-pointer that pulled Minnesota within eight with under three minutes left, but Felton and Chandler followed with hoops to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Knicks coach Mike Woodson recorded his 300th victory in his ninth season. … Minnesota C Ronny Turiaf missed his sixth straight game with a right knee injury. … Felton had eight of 24 assists for the Knicks, who held Love (eight rebounds) without a double-double for only the seventh time in 57 games this season.
