Trail Blazers 108, Timberwolves 97: Damian Lillard scored 32 points on 11-of-17 shooting and host Portland recovered from an 18-point second-quarter deficit to defeat the Timberwolves.

Nicolas Batum added 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots and Thomas Robinson grabbed a career-best 18 boards and scored 14 points for the Trail Blazers. Wesley Matthews added 17 points for Portland, which was without All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge (groin) for the third consecutive game.

Kevin Love had 31 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota, which had a three-game winning streak halted. J.J. Barea tallied 21 points off the bench and Dante Cunningham scored 12 points.

The Timberwolves trailed by six with eight minutes to play before Robinson converted a 3-point play, Matthews drained a 3-pointer and Batum drove for the hoop to make it a 100-86 margin midway through the quarter. The lead topped out at 16 as the Trail Blazers won their second straight game.

Portland trailed 52-34 with just over five minutes left in the second quarter but caught the Timberwolves at 71 on a 3-pointer by Lillard midway through the third quarter. Minnesota recovered to take an 80-76 lead before the Trail Blazers scored the final eight points of the period to take an 84-80 edge into the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Love set a franchise record with his fifth consecutive 30-point outing, breaking Kevin Garnett’s mark. … Lillard made five 3-pointers for Portland, which won the season series 3-1 and has emerged victorious in 24 of the last 27 meetings. … Timberwolves C Nikola Pekovic (ankle) sat out his 12th consecutive game and G Kevin Martin (thumb) missed his sixth straight contest.
