Raptors 98, Cavaliers 91: Terrence Ross scored a team-high 20 points as host Toronto used a huge third quarter to turn away Cleveland.

Jonas Valanciunas totaled 18 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for the Raptors, who have won four of their last five games. DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry each recorded 14 points and Lowry added nine assists for Toronto, which dished out 23 assists as a team while committing only nine turnovers.

Luol Deng's 21 points and 11 rebounds led the way for the Cavaliers, who saw their season-high six-game winning streak end. Kyrie Irving struggled through a 3-for-16 shooting performance, finishing with 17 points and nine assists while Tristan Thompson added 13 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland, which shot 39 percent.

Ten points and four rebounds from Valanciunas in the third quarter helped Toronto outscore the Cavaliers 37-21 in the period and take a 76-65 lead into the final frame. The Raptors pushed their lead to 84-69 on a Patrick Patterson 3-pointer with 8:48 remaining and stayed well in control until a late charge from Cleveland cut the lead to 95-89 in the final minute; Lowry then split a pair of free throws to put the game out of reach.

Trade deadline acquisition Spencer Hawes gave Cleveland an immediate spark off the bench, draining a 3-pointer on his first shot attempt with his new team and scoring five points in the first quarter as the Cavaliers established a 22-16 lead. By halftime, Irving had totaled eight points and six assists as Cleveland took a 44-39 advantage into the locker room.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto improved to 23-10 when recording 20 or more assists. ... Hawes, who grabbed 10 rebounds to go with seven points in his Cavaliers debut, was acquired from Philadelphia on Thursday for F Earl Clark, C Henry Sims and two second-round draft picks. ... Lowry's lone 3-pointer was his 130th of the season, setting a new career high.
