Knicks 98, Pelicans 91:
Carmelo Anthony scored 42 points - including 13 straight down the stretch - as visiting New York ended a three-game skid.

Anthony finished 16-of-29 from the floor and chipped in three steals and two blocks for the Knicks, who received just 17 points from their other starters. J.R. Smith scored 19 points off the bench and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 16 as New York picked up its first road win since Jan. 11.

Eric Gordon led New Orleans with 28 points and Anthony Davis finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Austin Rivers produced 14 points in a reserve role for the Pelicans.

The largest lead of the game was just six points until late in the third quarter, when New York capped the stanza with an 8-2 run to take a 78-70 lead. The surge continued in the fourth, as Smith scored five quick points to push the advantage out to 13 with just over 11 minutes left.

The Pelicans scored 11 straight points - five by Rivers - to pull within a basket and later put together a 6-0 run to take an 89-88 lead with under four minutes remaining. Anthony responded with a pullup jumper and gave the Knicks the lead for good on a layup with two minutes left before adding two more baskets, the last to make it 96-91 with 40.4 seconds to go.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Knicks F Amar'e Stoudemire sat due to left knee soreness and G Iman Shumpert left in the third quarter with a sprained left knee. ... Aside from Anthony, New York's starters were 6-for-24 from the field. ... New Orleans plays seven of its next eight games on the road.
