Bobcats 101, Nuggets 98: Al Jefferson equaled a season high with 35 points to go with a team-leading 11 rebounds as visiting Charlotte held off Denver.

Ramon Sessions had 16 points and seven assists for the Bobcats, who won for just the sixth time in their last 18 games. Gerald Henderson added 16 points and eight rebounds and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist finished with eight points, six boards and a pair of blocked shots, including a rejection of Timofey Mozgov's potential game-tying jumper with 2.7 seconds to play.

Randy Foye registered a season-high 33 points to lead the Nuggets, who were without starting point guard and leading scorer Ty Lawson due to a strained rotator cuff lost and replacement Nate Robinson in the first quarter with a knee sprain. Evan Fournier contributed 19 points and Mozgov totaled 15 along with a game-high 14 rebounds for Denver, which snapped a two-game winning streak.

The Nuggets opened up a five-point lead midway through the final quarter on a 3-pointer from Foye. Charlotte answered with a 17-8 charge to pull ahead 99-95 on a fadeaway jumper from Jefferson with 23.1 seconds to play before Denver had three chances to tie the game in the waning seconds that all failed.

Charlotte led by as many as 14 in the first quarter, paced by 10 points from Jefferson, before the Nuggets trimmed the Bobcats' lead to 32-21 on a 3-pointer from Fournier at the buzzer. Denver climbed back into the game in the second stanza, riding 15 points in the period from Foye and outscoring Charlotte 31-21 to hit the locker room down 53-52 at halftime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Charlotte snapped a five-game losing streak against Denver, improving to 6-12 all-time in the series against the Nuggets. ... Foye became the first player to score 30 or more for Denver this season. ... The Bobcats won the rebounding battle 53-43.
