Rockets 126, Trail Blazers 113: Chandler Parsons scored a season-high 31 points and Dwight Howard added 24 points and 12 rebounds as host Houston set a season high for points while upending Portland.

James Harden scored 22 points as the Rockets won for the seventh time in nine games. Patrick Beverley tallied 17 points and Omri Casspi added 15 for Houston, which made 16-of-33 3-point attempts and had a 52-37 rebounding edge.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 27 points and 20 rebounds and Damian Lillard scored 24 points for the Trail Blazers, who had a five-game winning streak snapped. Wesley Matthews scored 18 points and Robin Lopez added 13.

Portland trailed by 11 midway through the fourth quarter before Beverley got the roll on a driving shot and Howard delivered a dunk to make it 119-104. Parsons went on a personal five-point run to make it 124-106 with 3:41 remaining, which prompted Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts to empty the bench.

Houston shot 66.7 percent from the field and went 10-of-13 from 3-point range in the first half en route to a 71-56 lead. Portland cut its deficit to 86-80 with 5:05 left in the third before the Rockets finished strong to take a 106-91 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockets PF Terrence Jones (thigh) sat out while Beverley (hand) returned to action after a 14-game absence. … Aldridge has three 20-20 outings this season and five in his career. … Parsons made 12-of-19 shots and also had 10 rebounds and seven assists.
