Mavericks 110, Suns 107: Monta Ellis had 24 points and seven assists and Dirk Nowitzki added 21 points as visiting Dallas upended Phoenix.

Shane Larkin scored a season-best 18 for the Mavericks, who won for the fourth time in five games. Shawn Marion tallied 16 points and Dallas shot 53 percent from the field.

Goran Dragic scored 28 points and Markieff Morris added 23 points and matched a season best with 12 rebounds for the Suns. Marcus Morris added 13 points and Gerald Green scored 12 for Phoenix, which shot 45.2 percent.

The Suns were within 93-90 after Markieff Morris’ basket with 6:28 remaining before Dallas scored nine of the next 11 points for a 10-point lead with three minutes remaining. Dragic made three baskets in a 37-second span and Dallas guard Vince Carter turned the ball over on a careless inbounds play with 6.7 seconds left before Phoenix came up empty on its final opportunity to force overtime.

Ellis had 16 first-half points as Dallas led 58-56 at the break. The Mavericks increased their edge to 12 late in the third quarter before taking an 84-75 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Suns drop to 3-6 since losing G Eric Bledsoe to a knee injury. … Mavericks PG Jose Calderon scored just four points in 19 minutes and left with a bruised knee. … Phoenix had a 60-42 edge in points in the paint.
