Rockets 102, Knicks 100: James Harden had 37 points, seven rebounds and six assists as host Houston edged New York.

Aaron Brooks made two free throws with 17 seconds left and a runner by New York’s Beno Udrih rimmed out at the buzzer as the Rockets defeated the Knicks for the ninth consecutive time. Chandler Parsons had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Dwight Howard had 15 points and seven rebounds for Houston.

Iman Shumpert scored 26 points and went 6-for-6 from 3-point range in his second straight strong effort for New York. Carmelo Anthony had 25 points and eight rebounds and Tyson Chandler added 13 points and 11 boards.

Houston started the fourth quarter with a 10-1 run to inch ahead by a point. The contest was tied at 95 before Harden drained a 3-pointer and added a 20-footer to make it a five-point margin with 2:25 left and the Knicks responded with a 3-pointer by Shumpert and two free throws by Chandler to tie it with 1:02 to play.

Jeremy Lin scored all 14 of his points in the first half as Houston led 48-47 at the break. New York shot 59.1 percent during a 34-point third quarter to take an 81-73 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harden hit all 12 of his free throws while recording his ninth 30-point outing of the season. … Shumpert is 12-of-14 from 3-point range over the last two games while averaging 26.5 points. … New York played without PG Raymond Felton (groin), F Kenyon Martin (ankle), F Metta World Peace (knee) and G Pablo Prigioni (toe).
