Knicks 111, Hawks 106:
Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points and New York took advantage of some sloppy ballhandling to knock off visiting Atlanta.

Andrea Bargnani added 23 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 13 off the bench for the Knicks, who forced 27 turnovers leading to 36 points. Pablo Prigioni chipped in three 3-pointers en route to 11 points and nabbed four steals.

Paul Millsap had 18 points and eight rebounds but committed nine turnovers for the Hawks, who shot 60.6 percent from the field but ended up with 21 fewer field-goal attempts than New York. Louis Williams exploded late for 27 points off the bench while Al Horford added 17 points and three turnovers.

The Knicks forced 14 turnovers in the first half to help take a 57-48 lead into the break and pushed it out to a 14-point edge early in the third before Atlanta got hot from beyond the arc and drew within 79-77. New York never gave up the lead and took a four-point edge into the fourth.

It was still a four-point game when Anthony knocked down a 3-pointer and the Hawks turned it over on the next two possessions as the Knicks put together an 11-0 run. Anthony’s 3-pointer with 2:21 to play made it a 106-91 cushion and New York held off a late charge to put it away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta F Kyle Korver went 4-for-9 from beyond the arc to extend his NBA record to 93 straight games with at least one 3-pointer. … The Knicks played without F Kenyon Martin, who suffered an abdominal strain on Friday in Boston. … Williams’ 27 points marked a season high and were one more than his total from the previous three games.
