Spurs 117, Timberwolves 110:
Tony Parker scored a season-high 29 points and Manu Ginobili added 20 and nine assists as San Antonio used a big fourth quarter to top visiting Minnesota.

Tim Duncan collected 12 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Spurs, who improved to 9-2 at home. Boris Diaw and Marco Belinelli added 12 points apiece as San Antonio shot 55.2 percent from the field.

Kevin Love went 8-for-9 from 3-point range en route to a season-high 42 points and also grabbed 14 rebounds as the Timberwolves dropped back below .500 to 11-12. Nikola Pekovic contributed 18 points and 11 boards and Ricky Rubio chipped in 15 points and eight assists.

Ginobili’s 3-pointer knotted it at 102 with 5:22 left and he hit another from beyond the arc just under two minutes later to put San Antonio on top 107-104. Minnesota jumped back in front 108-107 but Parker fed Duncan and Ginobili for layups before driving for one of his own in a 6-0 burst that gave San Antonio the lead for good.

The Spurs used a 12-2 run in the second quarter to gain some separation and took a 62-54 lead into the break before the Timberwolves caught fire in the third. Love scored 19 points in the period while going 5-of-6 from 3-point range as Minnesota took an 89-80 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Spurs and Timberwolves were supposed to meet in Mexico City on Dec. 4, but a generator malfunction outside filled the arena with smoke, forcing a postponement. … Love’s fifth 3-pointer of the night gave him 500 for his career, and his 21 double-doubles in 22 games is the most through the first 22 games going back through at least the 1985-86 season. … Duncan has three double-doubles in five games this month after recording one in the first 17 contests.
