Knicks 83, Bulls 78:
Carmelo Anthony led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds as host New York snapped out of its funk against shorthanded Chicago.

Amar’e Stoudemire added 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting off the bench for the Knicks, who had dropped their previous two games by a combined 56 points. New York forced 23 turnovers, including three in the final 75 seconds to help seal the win.

Mike Dunleavy scored 20 points for the Bulls, who failed to reach 80 points for the third straight game. Carlos Boozer picked up 12 points and 12 rebounds for Chicago, which got Joakim Noah (thigh) back but is still missing Luol Deng (Achilles) and Jimmy Butler (toe) along with Derrick Rose (knee).

A series of mistakes by the Knicks, including a shot-clock violation and an eight-second violation, helped the Bulls on an 18-2 run that evened it at 74 with 3:38 to play. Chicago had a chance to take the lead but Stoudemire stole the ball from Noah and hit a jumper at the other end with 2:33 left as New York pulled away.

The Knicks took control in the second quarter as the Bulls missed their first 11 shots of the period, leading to a 19-0 run behind six points from Stoudemire and a 34-17 lead. J.R. Smith’s 3-pointer extended the lead to 64-41 midway through the third before Chicago recovered to pull within 68-54 heading into the fourth.
