Cavaliers 109, Knicks 94: Kyrie Irving poured in 37 points to go with 11 assists as host Cleveland used a scorching second half to pull away from New York.

Jarrett Jack scored 17 off the bench and Tristan Thompson added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Cavaliers, who have won four of their last five. Cleveland shot 56.8 percent overall and 61.9 percent in the second half to turn a three-point halftime margin into a comfortable victory.

Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points on 12-of-19 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds to lead New York, which has lost its last two games by a combined 56 points. Amar'e Stoudemire added 15 points and fellow reserve J.R. Smith scored 14 for the Knicks.

The Cavaliers reeled off a 23-4 run in the first quarter to build an 18-point cushion only to let the Knicks right back in it. New York scored 11 straight points to pull even at 40 with 3:26 left in the half and went into the break trailing 48-45.

Cleveland surged again in the third, using a pair of 8-0 runs to build the lead back up to 81-65 entering the final stanza, and the Knicks couldn't muster another rally. New York got as close as 90-77 midway through the fourth quarter, but Jack answered with a 3-pointer and the Knicks never threatened again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cavaliers have won 11 of their past 13 home games against the Knicks. … Cleveland's 31 points in the first quarter matched its highest total for an opening period this season. … Stoudemire has averaged 14.3 points over the last three games while going 17-of-23 from the field.
