Kevin Martin also had 17 points and Corey Brewer and Nikola Pekovic added 15 apiece. Ricky Rubio chipped in 12 points and eight assists - one more than the Nets had as a team - as the Timberwolves snapped a two-game slide and won for the seventh time in their last nine meetings with the Nets.

Andray Blatche paced Brooklyn with 16 points off the bench. Joe Johnson was the lone starter in double digits with 15 points for the Nets, who have dropped four straight and seven of their last eight.

Minnesota used a 13-2 run in the first quarter and a 10-2 surge in the second to open up a 20-point halftime lead. Brooklyn opened the second half with a burst before Kevin Garnett was whistled for a flagrant foul and then a technical foul after shoving Love, shifting the momentum back to the Timberwolves.

Martin hit the technical free throw, Love made two more for the flagrant and Brewer nailed a 3-pointer 10 seconds later to account for a six-point trip and begin a 16-0 run that made it a 32-point game midway through the third. Paul Pierce and Shaun Livingston combined for seven points on 2-of-18 shooting for the Nets.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brooklyn played without PG Deron Williams, who sprained an ankle Wednesday at Charlotte, and C Brook Lopez (ankle). ... The Nets had 13 turnovers at halftime, compared to three for the Timberwolves. ... Garnett lost for the first time in eight games against his former team.
