Timberwolves 124, Cavaliers 95: Kevin Love compiled 33 points on 10-of-16 shooting to go with eight rebounds and six assists as Minnesota moved to 4-1 at home by trouncing Cleveland.

Corey Brewer added 27 points, shooting 10-of-17 from the floor and going 5-for-5 from 3-point range for the Timberwolves, who sent the Cavaliers to their sixth road loss in as many tries this season. Ricky Rubio pitched in 16 points and a career-high 16 assists for Minnesota, which was without second-leading scorer Kevin Martin, who missed the game with flu-like symptoms.

Kyrie Irving had 20 points for Cleveland, which has lost nine straight away from home dating back to last season. Anderson Varejao added 13 points for the Cavaliers, who also received 10 points from Tristan Thompson.

Minnesota led 70-47 at halftime, shooting 62.5 percent and outscoring Cleveland 20-0 in fast-break points. Love and Brewer combined for 35 points at the break, as the Timberwolves notched a season-high for first-half points.

The Timberwolves, who were 11-for-22 from 3-point range, continued to roll into the fourth and extended the lead to as many as 39 as the starters rested. Cleveland emptied its bench as well.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota SF Robbie Hummel started in place of Martin and scored 10 points, including his first two NBA 3-pointers. ... Irving took a shot to the nose from Brewer on a fast break in the first quarter and left the game briefly for X-rays, which were negative. ... Cleveland C Andrew Bynum did not play and will miss Friday's home game against Charlotte, tending to what the team called a personal family matter.
