Pacers 96, Nets 91:
Paul George scored 24 points and David West added 18 and eight rebounds as visiting Indiana held off Brooklyn to stay undefeated.

Roy Hibbert collected 15 points and 11 rebounds and Lance Stephenson had 15 points and seven assists for the Pacers, who broke the franchise record for best start in history by moving to 7-0. George went 8-for-14 from the field to become the first Indiana player since Clark Kellogg in 1985-86 to score 20 or more in each of the first seven games.

Deron Williams recorded 17 points and 10 assists and Joe Johnson scored 17 as the Nets suffered their first home loss. Brook Lopez added 16 points and Paul Pierce scored 15 for Brooklyn.

The Nets took a 46-44 lead into the break but the Pacers opened the third quarter with a 16-5 burst to take control. George scored five points during the spurt and nine in the quarter as Indiana took a 72-67 edge into the final period.

The Pacers led by as much as 90-80 with 4:56 left before Lopez hit a short jumper and Pierce knocked down a 3-pointer to give Brooklyn some life. Williams’ 18-footer chopped it to 94-91 with 92 seconds to play but Johnson was long on a tying 3-point attempt with 11 seconds left and West knocked down two free throws at the other end to put it away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nets F Kevin Garnett got the start on the second night of a back-to-back and scored six points on 3-of-7 shooting in 27 minutes. Coach Jason Kidd had suggested that the 37-year-old could sit for some of the team’s 20 back-to-back sets to stay fresh. … The 91 points by Brooklyn tied the most by a Pacers opponent this season. … Pierce and Alan Anderson were each whistled for technical fouls for the Nets while George earned one for Indiana.
