Wizards 112, Nets 108 (OT): Bradley Beal scored a game-high 29 points and Trevor Ariza drained the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime as Washington edged visiting Brooklyn.

Nene registered 20 points and John Wall added 17 points and 14 assists for the Wizards, who rallied from 11 points down in the fourth quarter. Ariza’s basket gave Washington a 108-106 lead and, after a Nets miss, Wall made two free throws and Beal sealed it with a pair in the final seconds.

Brook Lopez scored 18 of his 23 points in the first half and Joe Johnson added 16 for Brooklyn, which dropped to 0-3 on the road. Andray Blatche came off the bench to contribute 10 points and 13 rebounds while Deron Williams scored 14 for the Nets.

Lopez scored 12 points in the opening quarter to help the Nets lead by as much as 14, but Beal and Wall each hit a pair of 3-pointers as the Wizards closed within 33-27. Washington pulled within two before Jason Terry hit a pair from beyond the arc while Lopez pushed his point total to 18 for the half and the Nets led 58-53 at intermission.

The Wizards led by as much as nine in the third, then looked to be in trouble in the final period before Nene led a run, capped by his three-point play, for a 97-96 lead. Kevin Garnett put Brooklyn ahead 99-97 with 37 seconds left before Nene’s rebound and basket with one second remaining in regulation sent the game to overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brooklyn F Paul Pierce, who did not participate in the shootaround due to an illness, was 1-of-5 from the field for four points in 27 minutes and Garnett made 2-of-11 from the field in 24 minutes for four points. … Washington C Marcin Gortat had 15 points and 12 rebounds for his third straight double-double. …This is the first of 20 sets back-to-back games for the Nets, who host the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Brooklyn played an NBA-high 23 times on back-to-back nights last season.
