Timberwolves 120, Magic 115 (OT): Kevin Love scored 31 points, including a late 3-pointer that sent the game to overtime, and grabbed 17 rebounds as Minnesota outlasted visiting Orlando.

Kevin Martin recorded 23 points, including seven in overtime, and Corey Brewer added 16 points for the Timberwolves in their season opener. Ricky Rubio chipped in with 13 points and 11 assists while Nikola Pekovic had five of his 11 points in the extra period for Minnesota.

Arron Afflalo scored a team-high 28 points for Orlando, but missed a fadeaway as time expired in regulation that could have won the game. Nikola Vucevic registered 22 points and 16 rebounds while Jameer Nelson added 18 points and eight assists..

Minnesota shot 59.1 percent in the first quarter and J.J. Barea came off the bench to score nine of his 11 points for a 38-27 lead. The Magic, who lost at Indiana on Tuesday in their opener, got 10 points each from E’Twaun Moore and Andrew Nicholson in the first half to stay within 60-52 at intermission.

Orlando pulled within a point three different times in the third quarter, but Love and Ronny Turiaf each scored three in the final minute as Minnesota took an 87-80 lead. Afflalo put Orlando ahead 101-100 with 24 seconds remaining in regulation and Victor Oladipo hit two free throws before Love’s 3-pointer from the left wing tied it with 10.2 seconds left.
