Raptors 93, Celtics 87: Rudy Gay poured in 19 points and Toronto used a pivotal 12-2 fourth-quarter run to subdue visiting Boston in their season opener.

Gay added eight rebounds and a pair of steals for the Raptors, who outrebounded Boston 48-33 while forcing 22 turnovers. Amir Johnson and DeMar DeRozan added 13 points apiece while Jonas Valanciunas finished with eight points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.

Jeff Green's 25 points paced the Celtics, who made just 20-of-29 free throws. Brandon Bass added 17 points and Vitor Faverani had 13.

After falling behind by five after the first quarter, Toronto opened the second on a 17-5 run spanning 7 1/2 minutes. Boston closed to within two before Toronto responded with a Valanciunas jumper, a Tyler Hansbrough layup and Terrence Ross' 3-pointer just before the horn to send the Raptors into the break with a 49-37 edge.

Toronto extended the advantage to 16 on a Valanciunas dunk and stemmed a Boston rally with a long 3-pointer from DeRozan, but the Celtics roared back — aided by 3-pointers from Green and Jordan Crawford in the final minute of the quarter — to make it a 71-71 game after three. Boston capped the furious rally with Green's go-ahead 3 early in the fourth, but Toronto kicked off its decisive run with a Johnson 3-pointer near the midway point of the quarter and didn't trail again.
