Knicks 120, Kings 81: J.R. Smith poured in 25 points off the bench and fellow reserve Amar'e Stoudemire added 21 on 10-of-10 shooting as host New York won its fourth consecutive game.

Steve Novak chipped in 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range in a reserve role for the Knicks, who have won seven of nine since a season-worst three-game losing streak. Tyson Chandler contributed 11 points and 20 rebounds for New York, which improved to 18-6 at Madison Square Garden.

DeMarcus Cousins had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead Sacramento, which has lost four of five games on a season-long six-game road trip. The Kings fell to 5-20 away from home.

The Kings started out hot, racing out to an 18-6 lead before things went awry. The Knicks closed the first quarter on a 19-4 run to take the lead and had stretched the margin to 44-22 before Sacramento scored its first field goal of the second quarter with 6:39 left in the half.

The big cushion allowed the Knicks to rest their stars. Carmelo Anthony played only 27 minutes, matching his season low with nine points. Anthony surpassed the 17,000-point mark for his career but also had his franchise-record streak of 20-point games snapped at 31.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chandler became the first New York player to grab 20 rebounds in back-to-back games since Marcus Camby in December 2001. ... The 39-point margin tied for the 12th-largest victory in Knicks history and the largest since a 42-point win over Portland on March 14, 2012. … Smith has scored in double figures in 26 of the past 29 games. … Sacramento dropped to 4-6 on the second night of back-to-back games and has been swept in five of its 10 back-to-back sets this season.
