Nuggets 106, Mavericks 85: Danilo Gallinari scored a career-high 39 points and went 7-of-11 from 3-point range as visiting Denver routed struggling Dallas.

Andre Iguodala scored 20 points and Kenneth Faried had 11 points and 19 rebounds as the Nuggets won for the sixth time in eight games.

O.J. Mayo scored 15 points and Chris Kaman added 12 for the Mavericks, who have lost five straight and eight of nine games. Dirk Nowitzki had just five points on 2-of-10 shooting in 18 minutes in his third game back from knee surgery.

Gallinari had 15 first-half points and Faried had 14 first-half rebounds as Denver took a 55-47 edge into the break. The Mavericks were trailing 70-64 with 4:24 remaining in the third quarter after a basket by Darren Collison before Denver began pulling away with a 10-2 run.

Dallas was within 93-82 after Shawn Marion’s basket with 4:50 remaining but the Mavericks didn’t make another field goal. Gallinari scored nine straight points during a 13-0 run that pushed the lead to 24 with 1:45 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gallinari had scored in single digits in two of Denver’s past four games – going 1-of-10 from the field both times – before hitting 14 of 23 shots against Dallas. … The Mavericks shot just 37.5 percent from the field, including 5-of-25 from 3-point range. … The Nuggets had a 60-43 edge on the boards.
