Heat 106, Knicks 94: LeBron James collected 29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and Chris Bosh had a big game as host Miami clinched a series win over New York.

Chris Bosh finished with 19 points and seven rebounds and Dwyane Wade scored 19 for the Heat, who put together a strong defensive effort in the second half to run away with Game 5.

Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points on 15-of-31 shooting for the Knicks, who started Mike Bibby at point guard in place of Baron Davis (knee) and Jeremy Lin (knee).

New York shot 51 percent in the first half but still trailed, 55-44, at the break after the Heat scored on five of their last six possessions of the second quarter. Wade scored six points and Mario Chalmers hit a 3-pointer during the 11-4 surge.

Miami stretched it out in the third quarter as the Knicks went cold from the field, shooting 8 for 25 in the period. Anthony scored nine points in the third but hurt himself by getting called for a technical foul and then fouling Shane Battier on a 3-point attempt.

James hit a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws during a 7-2 spurt midway through the fourth that pushed the lead out to 96-77 with 5:47 left.

New York would creep back to within 11 points but Bosh scored on back-to-back possessions and James hit two more free throws to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Knicks have not won a playoff series since 2000. ... The Heat will play the third-seeded Indiana Pacers in the second round. They took three of four from the Pacers in the regular season. … Bibby had a strong game for New York, finishing with 10 points, six rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes.
