: LeBron James shot 10 for 14 from the floor en route to 32 points and host Miami dominated on the defensive end in a Game 1 demolition.

The second-seeded Heat scored 32 points off 27 turnovers and held New York to 35.7 percent from the field.

Dwyane Wade added 19 points and Mario Chalmers scored 11 for the Heat.

New York rookie Iman Shumpert suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament midway through the third quarter and will miss the remainder of the season. Attempting a crossover on the wing, Shumpert planted on his left leg and his knee buckled, immediately dropping him to the ground in pain.

He had to be carried off the floor and was taken to a local hospital.

The Knicks, who matched their lowest point total ever in a playoff game, were within 30-29 with 6:52 left in the second quarter when everything fell apart. New York turned the ball over 10 times in the final 6:03 of the quarter as Miami locked down.

The Heat scored 14 points from the free throw line during a 24-2 burst to close out the half, with James stepping up for the final nine points of the frame. The superstar forward shot 11 for 14 from the free throw line in the half and went into the break with 23 points.

Miami started the third on an 8-0 run, extending the lead to 31 points, 62-31. The Heat outscored the Knicks 57-29 in the second and third quarter combined.

Carmelo Anthony, who carried the Knicks through April while averaging nearly 30 points, was held to 11 points on 3-of-15 shooting.

GAME NOTEBOOK
: J.R. Smith led New York with 17 points off the bench. … Injured Knicks PG Jeremy Lin (knee) worked out on the court before the game but is still not expected to play unless New York advances to the next round. … Knicks C Tyson Chandler was called for a flagrant foul-1 late in the second quarter, when he delivered a hard screen to the back of James. Chandler was held scoreless and committed seven turnovers.
