MAGIC 119, PISTONS 89: Jason Richardson scored 22 points to lead all five starters in double figures as host Orlando romped despite the absence of All-Star center Dwight Howard.

J.J. Redick added 20 points and Glen "Big Baby" Davis had his fourth double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds to lift the Magic into a tie with Atlanta for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

With Howard sitting out because of back spasms, Orlando turned to a perimeter attack and buried 15 of 28 3-pointers to win its second straight game following a five-game losing streak.

Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson contributed 18 and 14 points, respectively, as the Magic sent Detroit to its third straight defeat. Orlando shot 52.5 percent overall and snapped a three-game losing streak against the Pistons.

Tayshaun Prince scored 21 points to pace Detroit, which had won both previous meetings with the Magic this season.

After the Magic set the tone with five 3-pointers in the first quarter, Richardson scored 11 points in the second period as Orlando took a 64-43 lead into halftime.

Richardson's sixth 3-pointer made it a 30-point advantage (78-48) midway through the third quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Howard sat out for the third time in five games, including Orlando's loss in Detroit last week. He is considered doubtful for the Magic's game at Washington on Tuesday. Entering this season, Howard had missed seven games in his first seven seasons, playing in all 82 games in five of them. ... Bucks forward Charlie Villanueva, playing in his fifth game of the season, scored 10 points - double his total coming into the contest. ... Richardson had his first 20-point game since scoring 31 at Milwaukee on Feb. 11.
