WARRIORS 97, TIMBERWOLVES 94:
David Lee had 31 points and eight rebounds to help visiting Golden State rally past struggling Minnesota.

Charles Jenkins scored the go-ahead basket and had 19 points and seven assists for the Warriors, who rebounded from a 20-point first-half deficit to snap a six-game losing skid.

Kevin Love had 29 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost four straight games and seven of their last nine.

Jenkins connected on a driving layup with 20.4 seconds left to give Golden State a 96-94 lead. Minnesota’s J.J. Barea missed a forced jumper with eight seconds left and Jenkins hit one of two free throws with one second remaining.

Love missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

Golden State looked destined to see its losing streak reach seven when it fell behind by 20 points in the second quarter. But the Warriors played one of their top quarters of the season in the third to get back into the game.

Golden State had 38 points in the quarter after scoring just 39 in the first half. The Warriors began the half with a 20-7 run over the first five minutes to turn a 12-point halftime deficit into a 59-58 lead.

Lee had 11 points in the quarter, which concluded with Golden State leading 77-71.

Golden State’s lead was 86-77 after Nate Robinson’s basket with 7:39 to play before Minnesota whittled away. Wayne Ellington’s 3-pointer pulled the Timberwolves within 92-89 with 3:55 remaining and J.J. Barea drained a 3-pointer to tie the score at 94 with 1:24 remaining.

Ellington scored 17 points and Barea had 15 for the Timberwolves.

Richard Jefferson and Klay Thompson added 13 points apiece for Golden State.

Minnesota dominated most of the second quarter while building a five-point lead into a 49-29 advantage on Ellington’s 3-pointer with less than two minutes to play in the half. Golden State missed its first eight field-goal attempts of the quarter and has just eight points until rolling off 10 straight points in a 90-second span late in the stanza. Love’s two free throws gave the Timberwolves a 51-39 halftime lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lee has scored 22 or more points in 11 of the past 14 games. … Love is averaging 32.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games against the Warriors this season. … Golden State was just 9 of 31 from 3-point range. … Timberwolves guard Luke Ridnour sat out with an ankle injury.
