: Marcus Thornton had 24 points and four steals and Isaiah Thomas added 18 points as host Sacramento defeated Minnesota.

John Salmons scored 15 points and Jason Thompson added 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Kings won their second consecutive game.

Kevin Love had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost three straight and five of six games.

Sacramento followed up a 25-point thrashing of the Boston Celtics with a solid effort against Minnesota, forcing 21 turnovers and pulling away in the second half.

The Kings led by eight points entering the final stanza and outscored the Timberwolves 13-4 over the first 4 1/2 minutes to stretch the lead to 17 points. Thornton had seven points during the surge.

Minnesota is 1-4 since losing standout point guard Ricky Rubio to a season-ending knee injury. Luke Ridnour had played well in place of Rubio until committing five turnovers against the Kings.

Chuck Hayes added 12 points and Donte Greene scored 11 points for Sacramento, which had 11 steals.

Derrick Williams had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Timberwolves, who received 14 points from Martell Webster and 13 apiece from Ridnour and Michael Beasley.

The contest was tied at 57 at halftime and Sacramento scored the first five points of the third quarter and never again trailed.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kings guard Tyreke Evans missed his second straight game with an ankle injury. … Beasley (toe) returned after missing consecutive games but forward Nikola Pekovic was unavailable due to an ankle injury. … Thompson had three straight double-doubles and is averaging 18.3 points and 13.3 rebounds during the stretch … Love had his third straight double-double and eighth in nine games.
