NETS 93, MAVERICKS 92: Brook Lopez scored 38 points and hit the two decisive free throws as New Jersey stunned host Dallas.

Anthony Morrow scored 15 points and Deron Williams had 12 points and 12 assists and the Nets survived a last-second 3-point miss by Jason Kidd to win for the third time in five games.

Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Brendan Haywood scored a season-best 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Dallas.

Lopez hit two free throws with 42.4 seconds left to finish an outing that fell one point shy of his career-high.

New Jersey led most of the game and were ahead by 10 points before the Mavericks made a late-game charge.

Dallas trailed 89-79 after Lopez’s basket with 5:22 to play and missed its first 13 shots of the final quarter until Haywood scored on a hook shot with 3:25 to play. Kidd hit a 3-pointer to cap a 13-2 run and give Dallas a 92-91 lead with 48.9 seconds remaining.

Kidd’s final-second miss came when the Nets blanketed Nowitzki on the final possession, forcing Kidd to loft a desperate shot.

Kris Humphries had 10 points and 15 rebounds for New Jersey.

The Nets led 56-45 at halftime and increased the lead to a game-high 13 early in the second half.

Dallas rolled off 10 straight points to tie the score at 60-60 on Haywood’s basket with 6:54 left. The Mavericks took their first lead of the game at 71-69 on Terry’s 3-pointer with 2:26 left in the quarter.

Lopez had 21 first-half points for the Nets.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Dallas forward Lamar Odom missed his second consecutive game for personal reasons and will also miss Wednesday’s game in Memphis. … Humphries returned to New Jersey’s lineup after missing the final game before the All-Star break with a calf injury. … Terry moved into sixth place in NBA history with 1,720 career 3-pointers. He passed Dale Ellis (1,719 from 1983-2000). … The double-double was the 13th of the season for Williams but only his second in the last 11 games.
