MAVERICKS 102, NUGGETS 84: Shawn Marion led a balanced attack with 16 points as Dallas steamrolled visiting Denver for its fifth consecutive victory.

Marion was one of six Dallas players to score in double figures. He added 10 rebounds and six assists for the Mavericks, who limited Denver to 35.7 percent shooting on the night.

Rudy Fernandez led the way with 14 points for the Nuggets, who saw their two-game winning streak come to an end.

Dallas never trailed in this one, breaking out to a 9-1 lead and building a double-digit advantage after one quarter. Denver closed to within five on a Corey Brewer jumper early in the second quarter, but Vince Carter responded with a 3-pointer to highlight a 9-0 run that lifted Dallas to a 51-39 lead at the break.

The Mavericks put the game out of reach in a dominant third quarter, with Marion leading the way. The veteran forward hit three short jumpers in the opening four minutes and, following back-to-back Jason Kidd 3-pointers, put an exclamation point on a lengthy run with an uncontested layup that increased the Dallas lead to 74-51.

The Mavericks steamrolled to a 29-point edge through three quarters and cruised from there.
