Derrick Rose scored 15 of his team-high 32 points in the fourth quarter as the Chicago Bulls held on to beat the host New York Knicks 105-102 Thursday night.

Rose added 13 assists while shooting 12 for 26 from the field as the Bulls (19-6) improved to 2-2 on their season-high nine-game road trip.

Amar'e Stoudemire led the way with 34 points and 11 rebounds for the Knicks (8-14), who fell for the 10th time in the last 12 games. Carmelo Anthony added 26 points in defeat.

After mounting repeated challenges throughout the fourth quarter, the Knicks finally closed to within a single point on a Landry Fields layup with 23 seconds left. Kyle Korver made two free throws and Stoudemire bricked a long 3-point attempt with 11 seconds remaining that would have tied the game.

New York had one more chance to send the game to overtime after Rose made one of two free throws, but Anthony's 3-pointer was off the mark.

New York trimmed an 11-point halftime deficit to two on an Anthony jumper near the midway point of the third quarter, but Rose answered with four straight points and Carlos Boozer hit a 15-footer to make it 72-64. The Knicks surged again later in the period, eventually tying the game before Chicago went back in front on a Korver technical free throw and led 77-75 entering the fourth.
