Shawn Marion scored 29 points and the Dallas Mavericks defeated the visiting Phoenix Suns 93-87 on Monday night.

Dallas (11-7) has won both games without star forward Dirk Nowitzki, who will likely miss at least two more games to work on his conditioning and get treatment for a knee injury.

Grant Hill scored 19 points for Phoenix (6-10). Marcin Gortat recorded his eighth consecutive double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Dallas has beaten Phoenix seven straight times and has won 10 of the last 11 meetings.

Ian Mahinmi scored 17 points and had nine rebounds for Dallas, which took the lead for good late in the second quarter. The Mavericks built a 15-point lead in the third period.

The Suns were coming off back-to-back road wins against New York and Boston. Phoenix finished its five-game road trip with a 2-3 record.

Phoenix guard Sebastian Telfair was ejected in the fourth quarter after being called for a flagrant two foul as Rodrigue Beaubois was driving to the basket.

Vince Carter missed his fourth straight game for Dallas because of a sprained left foot.
