Rajon Rondo scored 21 points before leaving with a sore right wrist as the Boston Celtics trounced the visiting Toronto Raptors 96-73 Wednesday, halting a five-game losing skid.

Kevin Garnett added 15 points for the Celtics, who ended their longest streak of futility since a seven-game slide in April 2007.

Gary Forbes led the way with 18 points off the bench for Toronto, which has dropped six consecutive games.

After cutting what was once a 16-point deficit down to six entering the second half, the Raptors fell victim to their own sloppiness as they watched the gap grow to double digits. Three straight turnovers early in the third quarter allowed the Celtics to build a 53-41 advantage, and Brandon Bass followed with six points during a 15-5 run that increased the edge to 22.

Things got nasty shortly after, as Toronto's Linas Kleiza was called for a flagrant foul after decking Rondo under the Raptors' net. Rondo made one of two free throws before leaving the court and heading straight for the locker room. He did not return to the game

Toronto trailed 73-55 entering the fourth and didn't challenge the rest of the way.

Rondo and Garnett provided the lone highlights in an otherwise moribund first half that saw the Celtics build a 44-38 advantage. Rondo went 5 for 6 from the field to lead all scorers with 15 points, while Garnett added 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
