Banged-up Rudy Gay poured in a game-high 26 points and the Memphis Grizzlies silenced the visiting New York Knicks for three quarters on the way to a 94-83 victory Thursday.

Gay, dealing with a shoulder injury, made 11 of 16 shots and was easily the best player on either team as the Grizzlies ended a three-game losing skid.

The Knicks not only lost the contest, they were also without the services of Carmelo Anthony for most of the second half after he suffered a sprained right ankle. X-rays were negative.

Up by 12 after a defensively dominant first half, the Grizzlies made the Knicks look even worse in the third quarter. New York trailed 55-45 after a Bill Walker 3-pointer with 8:25 remaining, then didn't record another field goal until Iman Shumpert's 24-footer with 1:12 left.

The Grizzlies had amassed a 24-point advantage by that point, and Gay finished with eight points in the quarter as Memphis led 75-52 entering the fourth.

The game wasn't close the rest of the way.

Anthony and Bill Walker had 14 points apiece for the Knicks, who shot just 37.3 percent.
