Joe Johnson scored 18 points to lead all five starters in double figures as the Atlanta Hawks eased to a 101-83 victory over the visiting Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

Marvin Williams added 17 points and Josh Smith and Al Horford each registered double-doubles as the Hawks beat the Wizards for the 13th time in 14 meetings.

Smith and Horford grabbed 10 rebounds apiece as the Hawks held a commanding 45-32 edge on the backboards.

Sixth man Nick Young scored 21 points and John Wall added 20 for the Wizards, who squandered a 21-point lead in dropping their opener to New Jersey.

For the second straight night, Atlanta bolted to a big lead by hitting its first five 3-pointers to go ahead 19-4 midway through the opening quarter.

Young came off the bench to bury his first five shots and help the Wizards cut the lead to two points in the second quarter, but the Hawks closed the half on a 14-5 run for a 55-42 lead.

Atlanta missed nine straight shots from beyond the arc in the first half, but Johnson and Williams nailed back-to-back 3-pointers in an 8-0 run to push the lead to 70-51 with 7:49 left in the third.

The Wizards got within 12 points in the final quarter before Horford hit a pair of baskets to stem the rally.
