The Cleveland Cavaliers tied the record for longest losing streak in major pro sports history with their 26th consecutive setback, a 103-94 loss to the visiting Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
Already the owners of the longest losing streak in NBA history, the Cavaliers have tied the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost their first 26 games during the 1970s. Cleveland has lost 36 of its last 37 games.
The Pistons entered losers of five of their last seven but got 61 points from their bench, 48 points in the paint and 17 offensive rebounds.
Rodney Stuckey scored 22 points and fellow reserve Will Bynum added 17 and seven assists for the Pistons. Tayshaun Prince was Detroit's only starter in double figures with 10 points.
Antawn Jamison scored 22 points for the Cavaliers, including 14 in the third quarter. Ramon Sessions had 20 points and 12 assists and J.J. Hickson had 18 points and 15 rebounds.
