Point guard Toney Douglas scored 24 points while filling in for an injured Chauncey Billups, and the New York Knicks pulled away in the second half for a 107-88 victory over the visiting New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night.

Amar'e Stoudemire also scored 24 points and Carmelo Anthony added 22 points as New York handed the Hornets their third straight loss and 10th in 13 games.

Shawne Williams netted 16 points, including 11 in a span of under 3 1/2 minutes in the third quarter as the Knicks shot 54.5 percent (42 of 77) from the floor.

Jarrett Jack scored 21 points to lead New Orleans, which got another abysmal offensive performance from point guard Chris Paul.

Paul was held to just four points, giving him a total of 17 in the three-game skid for New Orleans, which failed to reach 100 points for the ninth consecutive contest.
