Dwight Howard had 21 points and 14 rebounds as the host Orlando Magic fended off the New Jersey Nets 95-85 on Friday for their fifth straight victory.

Hedo Turkoglu added 20 points and 13 assists, and Ryan Anderson was 5 of 8 on 3-pointers for the Magic (47-26), who won their seventh straight over the Nets.

Jordan Farmar had 16 assists and 15 points, and Anthony Morrow scored 19 for New Jersey (23-48), which has lost five of its last six games and fell to 5-30 on the road. Kris Humphries had 14 rebounds.

Farmar started in place of All-Star point guard Deron Williams, who missed his fourth straight game with a wrist injury.

New Jersey trimmed a 10-point halftime deficit and trailed by one with 9:52 remaining before Orlando went on an 10-0 spurt, highlighted by a pair of Anderson 3-pointers to take a 79-68 lead with 5:50 to go.

After Farmar's basket brought the Nets to within 84-80 with 2:17 left, the Magic put the game away with an 8-2 burst, including four points by Howard.

The Magic led 48-38 at halftime behind Howard's 13 points and eight rebounds.
