Carmelo Anthony scored 18 of his 28 points in the second half as the Denver Nuggets defeated the New Jersey Nets 107-103 on Saturday night.

Anthony scored the last five points for the Nuggets (7-6), who have won four straight overall and seven of their last eight against the Nets.

New Jersey had a chance to tie the game, but Brooks Lopez missed a layup with 14 seconds left.

Lopez had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Nets (4-9), who had held their previous six opponents to less than 100 points.

Nene had 22 points and eight rebounds, and Ty Lawson scored 15 points for the Nuggets.

Lawson scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to give the Nuggets an 88-75 lead, but the Nets went on a 17-6 run to make it 94-92, and kept it close the rest of the way.

Anthony had six of his eight rebounds and all five of his assists in the first half as the Nuggets led by as many as eight points in the second quarter, but settled for a 59-54 halftime lead.
