Shaquille O’Neal scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Boston Celtics rallied past the visiting New Jersey Nets 89-83 Wednesday night.

Boston guard Delonte West broke his right wrist in the contest. West fell to the floor after a layup with 2:48 left in the second quarter. He stayed on the court for several minutes before walking off the court, holding his right arm in obvious pain.

The Nets led 46-38 at the half and took its biggest lead of the game when they scored the first basket of the second half.

Boston (11-4) chipped away the rest of the third quarter and eventually tied the score at 59 on a Ray Allen layup with a minute left. New Jersey reclaimed the lead 63-61 at the end of three.

Boston took a 69-67 lead early in the fourth quarter and never trailed again.

The Celtics played without guard Rajon Rondo, who missed his third straight game with a strained left hamstring. Boston coach Doc Rivers didn't know whether Rondo will play in the team’s next game Friday against Toronto.

Rondo is averaging 11.2 points and 14.3 assists per game. Nate Robinson started in his place.

Paul Pierce added 18 points for Boston.

Devin Harris led the Nets (5-10) with 20 points.
