MILWAUKEE -- Jerryd Bayless hit a wide-open layup as time expired, and the Milwaukee Bucks staved off elimination with a 92-90 victory over the Chicago Bulls at BMO Harris Bradley Center on Saturday.

Chicago leads the best-of-seven series 3-1. Game 5 is set for Monday in Chicago.

Shooting guard O.J. Mayo gave the Bucks a nine-point lead, sinking a long 3-pointer as the shot clock expired with 3:01 left. Bulls guard Jimmy Butler responded with a 3-pointer; but, at the next dead ball, Mayo's shot was reviewed and waved off, making it an 87-84 game with 2:19 remaining.

The guard hit again from 3, with 1:42 left, forcing the Bulls to take a timeout.

Forward Pau Gasol converted a three-point play with 38.4 seconds left to tie the game.

Chicago got the ball back for a last shot after Bayless came up empty on a drive through the lane, but guard Khris Middleton stripped Rose on the opposite end; and, after a Bucks timeout, Middleton inbounded to Bayless, untouched in the lane.

Mayo led Milwaukee with 18 points while forward Jared Dudley scored 13 and Bayless, forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Middleton each added 10.

Butler scored 33 to lead Chicago, Gasol tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds Rose scored 14 points and forward Mike Dunleavy added 10.

Chicago shot 48.5 percent but struggled to control the ball against Milwaukee's defense, turning it over a season-high 28 times. Those extra possessions led to 39 Milwaukee points, bailing out an offense that shot 39.1 percent and was 9-for-22 on 3-pointers.

Butler scored 23 points in the first half, hitting 8 of 12 shots to pace a Bulls offense that shot 51.5 percent and sank 6 of 10 3-point attempts.

The game was tied at 50-50 going into the half in large part because Chicago turned the ball over 14 times for 21 Milwaukee points.

A 15-1 run put Milwaukee up 40-30 with six minutes left in the half and an open 3-pointer from the corner by Dudley made it a 12-point game with four minutes left.

The first three games of the series were full of physical play and brief scuffles. Saturday was no different, with three technicals and two flagrant-1 fouls being assessed in the first half.
