Mavericks 119, Thunder 115: Chandler Parsons scored a game-high 31 points as Dallas rallied from 15 down in the second half to defeat visiting Oklahoma City for its third win in four contests.
Parsons made 10-of-14 from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the 3-point arc while Monta Ellis contributed 24 points for the Mavericks, who ended the third quarter on a 19-8 run. Dirk Nowitzki chipped in with 22 points and Rajon Rondo scored 11 to go along with 13 assists for Dallas.
Russell Westbrook led the way with 24 points and 12 assists while Enes Kanter registered 19 points and 13 boards for the Thunder, who lead New Orleans by one-half game for eighth in the Western Conference. Steven Adams and Dion Waiters each scored 15 and Mitch McGary had 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for Oklahoma City.
Nowitzki’s 3-pointer gave the Mavericks a 98-94 early in the fourth quarter, but the Thunder battled back and tied it at 104 on Westbrook’s basket with 4:18 to go. Tyson Chandler made two free throws and blocked Kanter's shot before Parsons drove for a basket and made two free throws to give Dallas a 114-108 lead with 59.3 seconds left, and free throws closed it out from there.
Oklahoma City ran off 11 straight points – the final four from D.J. Augustin – for a 44-33 lead in the second quarter and settled for a 10-point advantage at intermission. Nowitzki scored 13 in the third quarter and Parsons drained a 3-pointer in the final seconds as the Mavericks rallied from 15 down to tie it at 92 going into the fourth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Dallas C Amar’e Stoudemire and F Charlie Villanueva combined to make 9-of-17 from the field while grabbing 10 rebounds and scored 10 each off the bench. … Oklahoma City PF Serge Ibaka (sore knee) missed his third straight game and SF Kevin Durant (foot) has been out the last 13, but has been participating in practice of late. … The Thunder owned a 59-37 edge on the boards, but Dallas had 27 assists to 19 for Oklahoma City.
