Thunder 104, Mavericks 89: Russell Westbrook had 34 points and 10 assists as host Oklahoma City knocked off Dallas for its sixth victory in the last seven games.

Serge Ibaka had 21 points and a career-best 22 rebounds as the Thunder recorded a 62-39 rebounding edge. Anthony Morrow had 16 points off the bench and Kevin Durant added 12 points while dealing with foot soreness as Oklahoma City moved into a tie with the Phoenix Suns for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 14 points for the Mavericks, Devin Harris added 13 and Tyson Chandler contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds in his return from an ankle injury. Rajon Rondo had five points and six assists in his return after missing six games with nasal and left orbital bone fractures.

Oklahoma City took an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter before Dallas scored the first eight points with Al-Farouq Aminu capping the run on a 3-pointer with 10:12 to play. The Mavericks were again within 10 after Nowitzki’s basket with 3:13 left but a hoop by Nick Collison and consecutive baskets from Westbrook pushed the Thunder’s lead to 99-83 with 1:57 left and Oklahoma City cleared the bench.

Dallas shot a season-low 29.2 percent from the field in the first half and Oklahoma City led by as many as 17 points. The Thunder held a 52-36 lead at the break and scored the first six points of the second half to increase their lead to 22 points before taking an 83-65 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma City sent away PG Reggie Jackson (Detroit) and C Kendrick Perkins (Utah) in deadline trades with the return including C Enes Kanter from Utah and PG D.J. Augustin and F Kyle Singler from Detroit. … Recently acquired PF Amar’e Stoudemire didn’t play for Dallas so he could get more acclimated with the team’s system and is expected to make his debut on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets. … The Thunder won despite shooting just 41.8 percent from the field and committing 25 turnovers but the Mavericks shot even worse at 36.3 percent.
