Chris Paul scored a season-high 32 points and dished out nine assists as Los Angeles blew out visiting Phoenix in the second half.

Blake Griffin added 19 points and eight rebounds and DeAndre Jordan contributed 12 points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks for the Clippers, who hadn’t played since Monday. Spencer Hawes and J.J. Redick finished with 14 points apiece with Hawes also grabbing eight rebounds off the bench.

Phoenix reserve guard Gerald Green scored 26 points after going scoreless in Friday night’s loss to the visiting Charlotte Hornets. Goran Dragic scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half, Isaiah Thomas also scored 19 and fellow reserve Alex Len finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns, who were opening a season-long six-game road trip.

The Clippers got off to a fast start and led by nine late in the first quarter, but Green got hot and scored 11 points over the final 7:22 of the second to help draw the Suns even at 54 heading to intermission. Paul hit three 3s and Redick another in the first three minutes of the second half and the Clippers’ lead quickly swelled to 13 points.

During that stretch, Markieff Morris, the second-leading scorer for the Suns coming into the game, went to the bench with his fourth foul before finishing with five points on 2-for-10 shooting. The Clippers stayed hot through the second part of the third quarter and expanded the lead to 96-74 heading to the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Clippers SF Matt Barnes, who averaged 18 points a game against the Suns last season, was back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench the last two games and scored 12 points before picking up his second technical foul of the game midway through the fourth quarter. … Clippers backup G Chris Douglas-Roberts missed his third straight game with tendinitis in his right Achilles and is expected to be out another one to two weeks. … The Clippers shot 13-for-18 in the third quarter while outscoring Phoenix 42-20.
