Warriors 95, Kings 77: Stephen Curry collected 24 points, 10 rebounds and six steals as visiting Golden State turned up the defense in the second half to race past Sacramento.

Klay Thompson added 19 points and Marreese Speights scored 16 off the bench for the Warriors, who held the Kings to 30.8 percent shooting. Draymond Green picked up his fifth career double-double with a 12 points and 10 rebounds as Golden State won in Steve Kerr’s coaching debut.

DeMarcus Cousins went 12-of-18 from the free-throw line en route to 20 points and added 11 rebounds to lead Sacramento. Rudy Gay chipped in 14 points and Darren Collison had 13 points and eight assists for the Kings.

The Warriors turned the ball over 10 times in the first half and Sacramento benefited from 19 made free throws to take a 49-47 lead into the break. Collison found Gay for a dunk that left the Kings up 54-51 with 6:56 left in the third, but Kerr called timeout and Golden State responded with a 22-4 burst capped by Green’s 3-pointer to grab a 73-58 lead before settling for a 10-point edge heading to the fourth.

Sacramento trimmed the deficit to 78-69 with 6:46 left but Speights’ basket kicked off a 9-2 run as the Warriors regained control. Curry and Thompson hit 3-pointers on back-to-back Golden State possessions to provide the final margin.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Warriors G/F Andre Iguodala came off the bench for the first time in 807 career NBA games and scored two points on 1-of-6 shooting in 29 minutes. … Kings first-round pick Nik Stauskas hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored nine points off the bench. … Both teams struggled from beyond the arc, with Golden State going 6-for-27 and Sacramento hitting 3-of-18.
